We’ve Moved!!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new website and blogwww.MistyMeadowsHomestead.com

After many years of sharing our adventures in prepping, canning, gardening, wildcrafting, etc., on Facebook & Instagram, our friends and family suggested we start a blog to reach a broader audience.

And we did…

In 2016 we purchased a small homestead (10+ acres) in a need of a great deal of TLC – what a perfect time to share our progress and adventures. We started a free blog over at WordPress. While it was a great start, it limited how we could utilize our internet presence and the domain name was cumbersome and easy to forget.

This year we have decided to take the leap and start our own website and blog!

We hope our blog will be your first stop not only to learn more about gardening, canning etc., but also about community events and happenings in Mineral, WA and the surrounding areas.

So, welcome! Welcome to Misty Meadows… where the adventure begins! I hope you’ll join us!

Blog Hop!!

[This post has been updated since it originally ran in January 2017]

World Bee Day

Last year, the United Nations declared May 20 as “World Bee Day”.

As beekeepers, we know the importance of bees.

While honey and beeswax are a nice byproduct of keeping bees and we may have gotten into beekeeping for those reasons, as time went on we begin to see the greater importance of these small creatures.

Beginning on Saturday, May 19th and going through the 21st we will be doing our part to “save the bees”

We will accomplish this by holding a special follow loop on Instagram and having you create educational posts using your own personal beekeeping related photos *** that have been watermarked with the picture below ***

The idea is to push as much bee related content over those days, as possible to increase public awareness about the importance of bees.

Are you game?

Let’s do it we can to educate and fill IG with our love of bees during those 3 days.

🐝

If you’d like to participate, Please send me a DM…direct message.

Let’s save some bees!!!
